Chapter 152: Forest Elves

Shane took a deep breath as he adjusted the straps of his Army Set. The weight of the gear was comforting, and he felt safer with this Tier 4 item since it really feels comfortable wearing this compared to the Crawler Set.

Anyway, Shinja walked beside him, silent and watchful, his twin blades glinting in the dappled sunlight. He wasn\'t worried about the zombies detected by the elves at all.

It was the same for Chaloem, the monk, who held his staff while tapping the ground rhythmically. They seemed unbothered by the two Zombies, as if they were waiting for something even stronger!

Shane then glanced at the five elves who were scattered around. They moved either through the branches of the trees or silently on the ground. Their bows were at the ready, and they waited for his instructions.

After a few moments, Shane made his decision.

"Eldrin and the other four…" Shane commanded, "if you can tell their location, surround those two unknown zombies. Try to attack these creatures from a distance. If they rush you, Thalion and Aranion will engage."

The elves—Eldrin, Faelar, Cirdan, Thalion, and Aranion—nodded, their expressions were solemn as this would be their first battle in this new world.

Whoosh~ Whoosh~

They spread out, and their movements were swift while they surrounded the two Zombies. Soon, they found a better angle to shoot these zombies from a distance.

During this time, Shane, Shinja, and Chaloem followed them, but they didn\'t get too near to avoid being sensed by the unknown zombies. They planned to let the Elves take care of this.

Shane also wanted to see them in action, so he decided not to draw his guns at the moment.

Soon, Eldrin, the one Shane assigned as the leader, signaled to the others, and they positioned themselves in a semi-circle while the others\' bows were drawn.

And then, they saw them—the two seemingly powerful Zombies as huge and as muscular as the monk, Chaloem!

Indeed! They have a large frame, and their skin seems to have been forged from dark steel.

Their eyes glowed with malevolence, and their seemed to be guarding this particular area with the way they behave…

Shane could tell that these were no ordinary undead; they were mostly likely variants of Survivor Zombies if Shane would guess…

\'No… Wait… I think I know what they are.\' Shane\'s eyes widened as he saw the zombie.

"Tyrant Zombie!" Shane said in a muffled voice after recognizing them. It was thanks to the descriptions he read from the chat board!

Nonetheless, the name or type of zombie wasn\'t important to the others.

The elves\' arrows were nocked, ready to eliminate the two zombies…

Shane\'s gaze locked onto the creatures.

Tyrant Zombies—this very name would probably send shivers down his spine during the early days of the apocalypse.

However, he was now feeling excited to hunt them.

These Tyrant Zombies were probably considered to be the apex of the mid-tier Zombies, or perhaps it was already a high-tier Zombie.

Soon, the battle erupted.

Twang!

Eldrin\'s arrow flew first, striking one Tyrant in the chest. It didn\'t pierce through its body, showing how tough this creature was…

Faelar\'s arrow followed, hitting the other in the shoulder… This time, Faelar\'s arrow shattered upon impact, and it made the Tyrant Zombie stumble…

Nonetheless, Cirdan\'s shot was precise, aiming for the head.

Thud!

However, it was once again ineffective against the Tyrant Zombies! They only managed to scratch the zombies!

\'I have to give them Master-Grade weapons soon…\' Shane thought to himself as he knew that their weapons weren\'t really that bad.

The problem was that these Tyrant Zombies were too special!

If those arrows hit the Spitter Zombies or Crypt Crawler Zombies, they would surely pierce through their bodies!

Anyway, the two Tyrant Zombies didn\'t like that the attack and immediately found the perpetrator!

With a guttural roar, they rushed to the Elve\'s spots!

This time, Thalion and Aranion stepped forward, their swords unsheathed, ready to engage.

Twang! Twang! Twang!

The other elves didn\'t stop firing arrows to slow down the two Tyrant Zombies!

The Tyrants continued to roar, their dark steel bodies absorbing the arrows!

They charged, their fists like wrecking balls as they crushed the stones and trees blocking their path!

Eldrin and Faelar moved away while firing more shots.

Finally, Cirdan\'s arrow lodged in one Tyrant\'s eye, but it kept coming!

\'So tough… But it\'s not like they could feel the pain…\' Shane thought as he wasn\'t sure if these zombies could actually feel pain. However, they seemed to not care about their injuries at all!

Boom!

Thalion and Aranion met the two Tyrant Zombies, their blades clashing against the zombies\' unyielding flesh.

It felt as if the forest trembled. The elves fought with a desperate grace, their movements synchronized. Shane watched, awe and fear warring within him. These were no ordinary zombies; they were nightmares given form.

And so, the battle raged—the five elves against the two Tyrant Zombies.

Arrows flew, swords clashed, and the forest bore witness to their struggle.

Shane could see that they were struggling, but he was not worried at all… After all, he knew that the elves hadn\'t used their Skills yet!

As expected, as soon as they were in a pinch, Shane saw them use one of their abilities!

Forest Guardian\'s Wrath!

The forest seemed to respond to the elves\' plight.

Leaves rustled, branches swayed, and the very earth trembled as soon as this Skill was activated!

Eldrin, Faelar, Cirdan, Thalion, and Aranion stood their ground as they felt their power and strength getting stronger!

They were not just warriors; they were guardians of the ancient woods.

As the Skill fully activated, the surrounding was filled with primal energy.

The elves\' eyes glowed, reflecting the hues of the forest itself.

Then, their arrows became like lightning and their swords like tempered fire!

The real battle between the elves and the Tyrant Zombies starts now!
