Chapter 128: 128:The Boy Is Too Courageous

However, for some reason, he felt that this guy greatly disdained him and when he looked at the screen, he saw his impression had dropped to negative 3.

This made him wonder about how he might have offended this guy.

Sadly, despite his persistence, Evan didn\'t get many benefits in terms of tax or in assistance. However, the man promised that the government owed him a favor and would accommodate his request like giving data and intelligence when needed.

Both parties agreed to formalize the agreement, but before that Evan asked Amit to give him some time to consult with his colleagues.

At the end, Evan prepared a gift for Amit Sharma.

Evan leaned back slightly, his eyes fixed on Amit. "I know things didn\'t exactly go our way today," he said coolly, "but I like to keep things balanced."

He slid a small box across the table and opened it to reveal a sleek ring inside.

"This ring," Evan began, "is not merely a piece of jewelry. It\'s designed to monitor vital signs in real time, tracking heart rate, blood pressure, and other crucial health metrics. In the event of any abnormal readings, it will trigger an alarm, ensuring that you\'re promptly aware of any potential issues."

Evan\'s expression remained unreadable as he continued. "Consider it a gesture of goodwill, a reminder that even if we\'re on opposite sides of the table, I still value our dealings."

"It\'s certainly appreciated," Amit Sharma said, patting Evan on the shoulder before leaning closer and whispering something into his ear that made Evan furrow his brows.

As if unaware of Evan\'s face, Amit Sharma kept on the gentle smile, "It\'s nice to meet a young man like you."

As Evan walked out, he observed and scanned the black-suited guards with his insights.

He especially noted their fighting levels. Except the ones near Amit Sharma, who were near the peak advanced stage, most of them were peak intermediate or in mid advanced stage.

Once outside, Evan\'s personal driver opened the door to the sleek black car. Evan climbed in with a controlled expression, followed by Big Mac and the other bodyguards who took their positions around the vehicle before the car glided smoothly away from the government building.

As they drove through the city, Big Mac glanced at Evan through the rearview mirror. Noticing the deep frown on his boss\'s face he asked. "Boss, you don\'t look very pleased. Your expression changed right after Sharma gave you that hug. What did he say?"

Evan stared out the window, his expression a mask of contemplation. He ran a hand through his hair, the lines on his forehead deepening.

"He whispered something that didn\'t sit well with me," he replied with an inexplicable expression.

Big Mac raised an eyebrow, concern evident. "And that\'s what got you so worked up?"

Evan\'s gaze remained distant, but his jaw tightened. "There was a hint of something... mockery… as if he was trying to undermine my authority. I don\'t take that lightly."

Big Mac nodded, sensing the tension in Evan\'s voice. "I\'ll keep an eye out, boss."

"Mac, let\'s leave this place...This city that is filled with filth of politicians is too suffocating for me to breathe in."

With a soft nod, Evan drifted into the deep memories of his meeting with that charismatic figure.

_____

"Brother Leon, what do you want to achieve? Do you want to become a world leader?"

"World leader…? My ass… Do you think I have a fucking hole in my brain to waste time being a bossy leader…?" The dark-haired man snorted and spat in disgust.

After cursing entire ancestral generations of a few people for a while, the man looked outside the window, staring at the deep veil of night.

"What the world needs now isn\'t a World Dominator, but rather a fucking Evil Terminator."

_____

North Block, Dilli.

The meeting with the young man left Amit Sharma deeply troubled.

He leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping on the armrests before he dialed a number. The phone rang twice and then a deep, chilling voice answered.

"I met him," Amit began in a tone that was a strained mix of frustration and forced composure. "That boy is hard to crack. Too stubborn and unyielding."

The voice on the other end was cold and indifferent. "Why did you call me?"

Amit\'s confident smile faltered slightly, replaced by a nervous twitch. "I had to warn him to stay out of his way and not to look for his adoptive parents. I said that they were involved in some criminal activities and were taken by secret agents."

A brief silence prevailed followed by an outburst.

The response from the other end was ice-cold. "Why did you do that, you fool?" the voice snapped, icy and menacing.

"Why do you have to go out of your way? You idiot, you just drew unnecessary suspicion when you weren\'t even a target."

Amit\'s composure shattered; he shrank back in his seat. "If I hadn\'t, he might have started snooping around. With his technological prowess, he could uncover everything. And you know what would happen if his parents found out about you… Don\'t forget, your sister\'s been driven mad since she returned from USL.

If not for your intervention and her misplaced trust in you, she might have already exposed you."

"Idiot!"

A furious scream echoed from the other side, "Do you think everyone is as brain-dead as you? By saying this, you just confirmed his suspicions that you—or someone you know—has a hand in it."

"But…"

"Shut up!"

The voice grew colder, laced with barely concealed menace. "You should have considered the consequences before acting. Your incompetence has put us all at risk. Clean up your mess before it jeopardizes everything."

Amit\'s face lost all of its color, his hands trembling as he clutched the phone. "I-I understand. I\'ll make sure it doesn\'t get any worse. Please, just give me a chance to fix this."

The line went silent for a moment before the voice spoke again, icy and detached. "You have one chance. Fail, and there will be severe consequences. Don\'t make me regret keeping you around."

"Just because you are the Home Minister, don\'t think that you really own the country."

Amit ended the call, his face a mask of fear and regret as he stared at the darkened office.

He just wanted to intimidate the young man, to make him know whom he was dealing with. Big people like them didn\'t need to hide.

One threat was usually enough and that\'s how he had ruled over many while taking out the one who tried to cross the line, but the boy for some reason didn\'t seem afraid.

"The boy is too courageous to be kept alive."
