Chapter 633 - Everything was like a Dream
Chapter 633: Everything was like a Dream
At this moment, it was as if everyone could hear the howls of ten thousand monster beasts. It sounded much like it once did during long ago ancient prehistoric times when the heaven-shaking might possessed by the demon emperor countless centuries ago reigned.
The demon emperor’s bloodline had actually awakened at this moment.
The closely wrinkled face of the old demon emperor was constantly changing under the blood color of the trail from the ground as his wrinkles smoothened one by one and the light in his old eyes turned solemn. His slightly bent-over figure also straightened up.
Everything was like a dream.
Finally, everything ended. A middle-aged man with a restrained gaze stood amongst them. He was handsome, and though he looked younger, he did not lose his matured charm. His entire body vaguely emitted a majesty that made people pay attention to him intently.
“Congratulations, Lord Sacred Emperor. Your demon emperor bloodline has finally awakened. Our monster beast clan is saved!” cried the guards with mad delight as they knelt on the ground before him.
“Master, is it really you?” asked Zhen Ye as he looked at the demon emperor, not daring to believe his eyes. The demon emperor’s entire body emitted a suppression, and even Zhen Ye who similarly carried the demon emperor bloodline felt shocked at the his transformation.
It turns out that this was the true might of a demon emperor! Even Ling Chuxi felt surprised. The current demon emperor before her was as different as heaven and earth when compared to how he was before.
“Congratulations, Lord Demon Emperor for successfully awakening your demon emperor bloodline,” said Huangfu Qingjue as he stepped forward.
“I need to thank the both of you. If it wasn’t for your timely reminder, I would have almost made a great mistake,” said the demon emperor with lingering fears in his heart.
Although the demon emperor did not know that the breaking of the barrier was due to the merit of the Cang Yuan sword spirit, he knew that if it wasn’t for Ling Chuxi’s reminder, he would have proceeded with the blood offering and sacrificed his life in order to summon remnants of the ancient demon emperor bloodline. Thinking about it, if the moment he completed the blood offering coincided with the breaking of the barrier, how laughable and pathetic would that be?
The demon emperor could not help but take a few more glances at Ling Chuxi. There seemed to be a thread of an odd aura about her, but since the ancient demon emperor bloodline within his body had just awakened, he had other pressing concerns and he didn’t think further as to why that was. He did have some lingering doubts in his heart, but he did not think about them too deeply.
“I will help the both of you open the array core now.” Since his bloodline had finally awakened, the demon emperor’s abundant force was now present, and he wanted to test out how much of his own cultivation had increased.
“Many thanks,” replied Huangfu Qingjue.
Huangfu Qingjue and Ling Chuxi walked towards the array core at the same time and put their hands on the barrier. A strong qi aura was released from their palms placed upon the array core, resulting in trails of dazzling lights that changed unpredictably to ripple across the barrier. The sight of it looked like clouds against a sunset sky.
“Are you still there?” Ling Chuxi took this opportunity to speak to the sword spirit in her mind.
“I’m here,” answered the fatigued voice of the sword spirit transmitting over her mind. “You and I have signed a Divine Sword Ancient Contract, so we are supposed to protect each other’s minds and souls after all.”
“Are you all right?” asked Ling Chuxi. Upon hearing the fatigued voice of the sword spirit, Ling Chuxi knew it had suffered a loss.
“I underestimated the strength of the Eight Gate Array. Luckily, there were your Nine Gloom Absolute Meridians to fall back on. Otherwise, I am afraid that even if I were to fall into a deep sleep lasting a hundred years, I would not necessarily been have able to wake up,” replied the sword spirit somewhat emotionally.
“A deep sleep for a hundred years!” In the beginning Ling Chuxi had thought it was a matter of great ease and that the spirit would only fall into a deep sleep for a couple of days based on how it had spoken about it. She never thought that it would be a sleep lasting a hundred years. However, thinking about it from a different angle, to this sword spirit who had slept for how many tens of thousands of years, the duration of a hundred years was indeed not considered a long time and was perhaps equivalent to a human’s experience of sleeping for a couple of days.
