Chapter 101 - 101 Is This a Surprise? (Ask for Monthly Tickets) !
The airship crashed to the ground, dust and smoke filling the air. The mask of Master Chu shattered, revealing his true face under the facade of Transformation Technique. It was County Lord Li!
His left arm was bleeding, dangling by his side. It was certainly crippled.
As Meng Jingzhou landed, he muttered discontently, “If only there were another airship.”
Master Chu took a deep breath, ready to say something when a sudden fit of coughing overcame him. Blood streaked across the corner of his eyes. “The smoke is poisonous!”
Master Chu swiftly held his breath, rage filled his heart. It was just like the tyrants, first using the Forbidden Spirit Array to trap him, then hurling an airship at him. The airship filled with explosives for mountain demolition, and the smoke after the explosion was poisonous too.
Both of you are like damned sows, one trap after another!
Master Chu originally suspected Lu Yang was a mole from the Righteous Path, but on seeing his actions to destroy the Reverse Life Array, he deemed it a lapse in judgment by their Master. But now, this chain of traps made him disbelieve even if Lu Yang claimed to be a mole.
The crash of the airship disabled the Forbidden Spirit Array, allowing Master Chu to regain his spiritual essence, but he had to use part of it to suppress the poison that had seeped into his body.
Normally, he would be able to expel the poison in a few breaths, but Lu Yang and his partner did not give him this luxury of time.
Meng Jingzhou began to channel his magic skill, his skin turned brass-colored as he charged forward like a tiger descending a mountain, a roar echoing through the woods.
“Shocking Heaven Six Forms!”
This was the unique skill of the Third Elder. Meng Jingzhou was only familiar with the bare basics of this technique.
His Qi and Blood surged, unleashing a flurry of punches each stronger than the last. The waves of energy created by his punches all aimed at Master Chu’s face.
Despite his injuries, Master Chu was at the late stage of the Golden Core cultivation. With just one arm, he could block Meng Jingzhou’s two fists.
Lu Yang, like an assassin, appeared silently behind Master Chu holding his Green Peak Sword. Master Chu reacted with amazing reflexes, kicking backward to send Lu Yang flying.
Man Gu appeared in the direction Lu Yang was sent flying. He grabbed Lu Yang by the ankles, spun around, and threw him back into the fray.
Lu Yang was like a sharp sword propelled through the air, his Green Peak Sword cutting through the wind as it aimed for Master Chu’s neck!
Master Chu parried Meng Jingzhou with his palm and swiftly turned around. With a powerful shift of his elbow and knee, he intercepted Lu Yang’s Green Peak Sword.
An ancient bloodline of the Barbarian tribe was activated, turning Man Gu larger by a size. His muscles rippled, his stature dominating like a rampaging elephant. He charged with the force of a mountain landslide!
Master Chu scoffed. How strong could they be compared to him, a late-stage Golden Core cultivator?
Just as Man Gu was about to collide with Master Chu, he swiftly flipped his hands and hurled several sharp bamboo sticks at Master Chu’s eyes.
Master Chu swiftly dodged by closing his eyes and turning his head.
Another set of bamboo sticks appeared behind him. Master Chu, hearing the noise, activated his Golden Core, forming a golden shield on his skin to block the bamboo attack.
He glanced back, realizing the bamboo sticks weren’t thrown by a person but propelled by the Automatic Skewer Formation.
The formation was a creation of Lan Ting at full power.
Lu Yang had Lan Ting assist secretly, thus double pressuring Master Chu both mentally and physically.
“All of you shall die,” Master Chu declared, retrieving a crimson flag from his Storage Ring. It looked as if it had been soaked in blood, radiating malefic energy. With the appearance of the crimson flag, the surrounding temperature dropped a few degrees.
Master Chu spat out a mouthful of blood, the crimson flag became even more eerie as it absorbed its master’s blood. Lu Yang and his partners could vaguely hear the wailing sounds of spirits!
“Can’t you use some proper weapon? Always utilizing such uncanny stuff!” Lu Yang spat out a clot of blood. His sword light danced like a dragon returning to the sea as he activated a magic skill to move underground. He tunneled rapidly forward and suddenly emerged from beneath Master Chu!
Master Chu staggered back. The clashing of the flag and sword rang out. Lu Yang performed a dazzling display of sword movements that were both swift and slow, fluid in motion.
The Shocking Heaven Six Forms appeared again. Meng Jingzhou rushed to the aid, his punches causing the earth to tremble. His strikes landed on the flagpole, nearly breaking Master Chu’s stance.
A gigantic tree descended from the sky, and Man Gu roared with rage. He held on to the massive tree trunk and smashed it towards Master Chu!
“Fire Dragon Talisman!” Asoft reproof resounded through the forest, and Lan Ting quickly used blood as ink to draw a talisman.
The fiery red Dragon danced savagely with its fangs and claws in the scorching air, diluting the peculiar atmosphere created by the crimson flag.
“There’s a fourth man too!” Master Chu roared, gritting his teeth angrily. Lu Yang truly came well-prepared.
“Calm the Winds!” Master Chu clenched the flagpole tightly, slammed it into the ground, and roared. Shockwave and air were oscillating, knocking down the three men and dispersing the Fire Dragon!
Master Chu had gone mad, his eyes ablaze with fury. If he hadn’t been hit with the flying boat from the outset, and hadn’t used his spiritual essence to suppress the potent poison, he wouldn’t be on such the defensive!
He leaped up abruptly, jabbing the flagpole at Man Gu who was lying on the ground. Man Gu scrambled to dodge, but he was too late. The flagpole pierced right through his scapula despite his efforts to move.
Blood trickled from Man Gu’s teeth, but he didn’t cry out in pain!
The Ancient Barbarian Tribe did not fear pain or death!
Master Chu mercilessly sought to give an additional kick at Man Gu’s head. Just then, Meng Jingzhou took the opportunity to throw a magic instrument, shouting angrily. The magic instrument exploded, and Master Chu, standing on one leg, was sent flying, leaving Man Gu unharmed despite being stabbed to the ground.
Meng Jingzhou had a multitude of treasures at his disposal, but all of them were of such high tiers that they couldn’t be activated or detonated.
Master Chu kicked a huge rock to pieces, rebounded with the force, pulled out the flag in his path, and prepared to sweep it at Meng Jingzhou.
The Green Peak Sword appeared right in front of Master Chu without deviating’s path, shifting the massive flag aside. Lu Yang engaged Master Chu in a fight again.
Lu Yang was adept at casting spells, every time Master Chu attempted to hit him, he would shrink to dodge the assault, incensing Master Chu.
Meng Jingzhou and Man Gu rallied and launched another attack. Lan Ting swiftly drew talismans with both hands. The fire and water dragons rose to the sky, intertwining and attacking Master Chu.
Master Chu could no longer bear this humiliation. He planted his flagpole into the ground, and the flag fluttered in the wind like waves in the ocean. The eerie howling from the flag confounded the mind.
“Ghost Chaos!”
The ghostly noise had an indescribable sorcery, it froze all four spots, making them feel ghost-entwined and immobilized.
Meng Jingzhou’s heart tensed, wanting to cry out and tell everyone that it was an illusion, but not only was he immobilized but he also couldn’t speak.
Master Chu laughed heartily, his trump card. He didn’t want to use it, as it might belittle him, but he was pushed to the brink by these four youngsters. Ignoring pretenses, he decided to kill them to redeem his honor!
“Break.”
The Green Peak Sword descended from the sky, swift as a lightning bolt. Master Chu hadn’t recovered before his skull had been pierced through.
Master Chu looked at Lu Yang incredulously. Seeing Lu Yang’s clear eyes and the mocking smile on his lips, he realized that Lu Yang was entirely unaffected by the illusion!
“How… how can you still move… impossible…” Master Chu collapsed, blood flowing from all seven bodily apertures.
Lu Yang added another sword strike to his Dantian, breaking Master Chu’s golden core, only then ensuring his death.
Lu Yang had no interest in telling a dead man that he had created this technique, the “Mind Seeing Method,” under the guidance of his Eldest Senior Sister. It could keep one’s mind vigilant and see the essence of things.
He was only in the early stages of cultivation and couldn’t yet see the essence of things, but the method proved enough to resist the illusions and dreams cast by cultivators at higher stages.
The Inspector had been delayed by miscellaneous chores, and had just arrived from County Li. As he crossed over Song Mountain and stood at the perimeter of the battlefield, he saw Lu Yang piercing Master Chu dead with his sword.
Recalling Master Chu’s words, “I’ve got a surprise for you,” “The newly recruited Lu Yang is a rare talent. He will shine at the Spring Festival,” he pondered.
“… So this is the surprise Chu was talking about?”
The Inspector, in his hundred years of life, had encountered such a surprise for the first time.
